So... who is Pamela Sim?

I'll give you a clue - it's not me! It's actually my grandma.

When I decided to take the plunge and open my own home baking business, it seemed only natural that I name it after the grandma who instilled in me my love of baking in the first place - in her tiny sticky kitchen that smelled of cakes and lavender. Every time I bake I think of the lessons she taught me and I hope by sharing my delicious treats I can recreate some of the joy she shared in her lifetime by doing the same.

About Pamela Sim

To me she was "Pam", never Pamela or Grandma because she thought any other name would make her sound old!

She was born in 1937 and learned to bake from her own mum, who worked as a cook in a children's borstal during WW2. Pam's first job was in a Post Office and after that she went on to work as a teaching assistant at Green Lane Primary, which is how I knew her best.

As "Mrs Sim" she won many awards for her cakes, bakes, and chutneys at school fetes and with her local W.I. chapter. She was a champion of crafts and also taught me how to knit, sew, quilt and crochet! She hated waste and her favourite saying was " we can make that at home!"

About Me

I am a self-taught baker (with a little help from Pam and Ashburton Cookery School) who is passionate about creating wholesome, healthy bakes that use real fruit and high quality seasonal ingredients.

In my travels around the world I love nothing more than a good pastry or cream tea and have picked up a number of delicious recipes along the way.

I specialise in tasty cakes, biscuits, macarons, and French pastries that use only the very best French butter.

It may cost a little more, but you’re worth it 💜
